JEFFERSON COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting the roadway has reopened following a fatal crash on I-10 westbound a mile marker 219 in Jefferson County.

Troopers told WCTV the crash involved two cars and a semi-truck and serious injuries have been reported.

FHP says one have died and three more have suffered serious injuries.

Troopers say a sedan was traveling westbound on I-10 towards stopped traffic, due to a construction zone ahead on the roadway.

According to officials, the sedan collided with the rear of an SUV. Following the collision, both cars continued into a stopped semi-tractor with a flatbread.

FHP says the driver of the SUV, a 67-year-old man, was pronounced dead on the scene. The passenger of the vehicle, a 65-year-old woman, suffered critical injuries.

Officials say both the driver and passenger of the sedan, a 19-year-old woman and an 18-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries, as did a second passenger, an 18-year-old woman, in the SUV.
