TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Eight people were injured in a two car accident on Ashville Highway Saturday afternoon, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The release issued Sunday night indicated two people were seriously hurt in the collision.

The crash happened around 1:45 p.m. Saturday, when a driver in a sedan traveling east crossed the center line and struck the front of an oncoming SUV. Troopers say all eight occupants in the car were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The age of those injured ranges from 11 to 50. The two sustaining serious injured include a 13-year-old girl and a 39-year-old man, both from Greenville, Fla.

This is an active investigation, according to FHP.
