(Gray News) - An Amber Alert issued for two young sisters out of Colorado was canceled after the girls were found safe. The sheriff’s office says two suspects were taken into custody.

An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday afternoon for 7-year-old Sophia Jones and 8-year-old Bethany Jones. The girls had last been seen in Denver.

Investigators said the girls were believed to be with their parents, 32-year-old Trisha Jones and 35-year-old Towon Jones. It was also believed the suspects could be armed and the children in danger.

Just hours after the alert was issued, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said both Sophia and Bethany had been located and were safe.

Both adults are in custody, according to the sheriff’s office.
