TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - About a month ago, Tallahassee Police Officer William Deming and State Fire Marshall Detective Brock Dietz saved a man while working off-duty and directing traffic at Thomasville Road Baptist Church.

On Sunday, the man and Officer Deming reunited at the church for the first time since the incident.

On Feb. 20, Officer Deming and Detective Dietz acted quickly when they saw the man was having a heart attack and laying on the ground of the parking lot.

They performed two rotations of CPR and used an AED to shock the man before he gained consciousness.

Officer Deming and Detective Dietz say they’ll never forget the love and appreciation they received from the man and his wife.

The man is now making a full recovery thanks to Officer Deming and Detective Dietz.

Officer Deming and Detective Dietz say it’s important for everyone to have CPR training so they can respond and save someone if they encounter a similar situation.
