Alyssa Camacho is a producer at WCTV Eyewitness News covering the Big Bend and South Georgia areas. She graduated from Florida A&M University in the spring of 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism. Before her work with WCTV, she worked as a news and video producer for the Black News Channel in Tallahassee and was a part of their original launch team. During her time at FAMU, Alyssa interned with a radio organization called Women in Radio where she planned networking events, handled media inquires and wrote feature stories on women within the radio broadcast industry across the U.S.
Alyssa joined the WCTV family in October 2021 shortly before becoming a first time mom. She's worked on several shows such as Eyewitness News at noon, 6 p.m., 11 p.m. and Eyewitness News Weekends. Alyssa is currently working to obtain her Master's degree in Communications from Syracuse University.
In her spare time Alyssa enjoys time at home with her family, watching true crime documentaries, and mentoring young journalist.
