Every meteorologist is asked, “what got you into weather?” Austin says it was the “scary clouds during a thunderstorm” that led him to that interest at an early age.
Austin Lowe joined the WCTV First Alert Weather Team in May of 2023. He comes from southeast Michigan where it is much colder. He loves Florida and Georgia's warmer weather and afternoon thunderstorms.
He earned his bachelor's degree in meteorology and minor in mathematics from Central Michigan University, along with a few graduate-level courses from Mississippi State University. The education helped him land jobs in Illinois and Michigan.
When Austin is not in front of the chroma key, he enjoys hiking, biking and watching sports. He wants to learn how to golf since he hears it is big in the southeast. Austin is excited to serve the Big Bend and South Georgia.
