Joey Lamar

Joey Lamar is more than excited to be the WCTV Sports Director. He eats, sleeps and breathes sports and his passion for local sports is second to none. Joey believes local sports are more than just highlights; they are the stories behind them.

Before joining WCTV, Joey served as the Sports Director at KXMB in Bismarck, N.D. for three years. While in Bismarck, he changed the way local sports were covered. He prided himself on only running local sports stories and highlights.

Joey also spent time in Albany, Ga. as the sports anchor for WFXL. Aside from anchoring five days a week, he also managed the department — his first job out of college. After leaving Albany, he spent time as an anchor and reporter for KFBB, servicing the Great Falls and Helena area.

Before starting his career, Joey interned at USA Track & Field, WLFI-News 18, West Lafayette and WRTV, Indianapolis.

Joey attended Clark Atlanta University, where he obtained a bachelor's and master's degree in Accounting. He later graduated from Indiana University at Indianapolis in Dec. 2013 with a second master's degree in Sports Journalism.

Joey looks forward to bringing a fresh perspective to local sports through his passion and commitment.

Feel free to reach out to him on Twitter. He loves talking about... well actually, debating sports.
