LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) -- The Lowndes County Sheriff's Office says a traffic stop along Interstate 75 on Sunday night led to the discovery of $4 million worth of cocaine.
LCSO says around 6 p.m. Sunday, a 'La Cubana' commercial travel bus was pulled over on I-75 near mile marker 13 for failing to maintain its lane.
A K-9 officer alerted deputies to a luggage compartment at the bottom of bus, and authorities found two suitcases packed with bricks of cocaine. In total, authorities recovered 40 bricks of cocaine valued at $4 million.
The suspects, Miguel Angel Lebron Santana and Aneudy Ortega Tejada, were identified through baggage claim checks. Deputies believe the two were heading from Miami to New York.
Santana and Tejada were arrested and charged with one count each of cocaine trafficking.
