AAA: Gas prices in Florida on decline, lowest since May

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Gas prices in Florida have declined nearly six cents in the last week and the state average price per gallon is at its lowest daily price since May, AAA announced on Monday.
Since peaking at $2.92 on May 25, the organization says the state average for gas is $2.80 per gallon, and prices have declined over the last 16 consecutive days.
Per AAA, the state average in Florida is still the highest it has been since the summer of 2014, when gas cost $3.50 per gallon. The current average is around 56 cents more expensive than prices were last year.
AAA says the most expensive prices around the state are in West Palm Beach-Boca Raton ($2.92), Miami ($2.91) and Panama City ($2.88), while the cheapest gas in the state can be found in Punta Gorda ($2.70), Orlando ($2.72) and Tampa St. Petersburg-Clearwater ($2.73).
Leon County is seeing average gas prices of $2.82,

According to the organization, Georgia is seeing an average of $2.79, with the South Georgia counties averaging just under the state average at $2.72.
