Infant, two adults seriously injured in Suwannee County crash

SUWANNEE CO., Fla (WCTV) -- An infant and two adults suffered serious injuries in a crash in Suwannee County Sunday afternoon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 1:00 p.m. on Interstate 10 eastbound near mile marker 277.

The crash report states that a Dodge Charger and a Toyota Corolla were traveling east on I-10 when they collided. The Charger, which was carrying three passengers, overturned into a ditch.

22-year-old Walter George and 19-year-old Katira Sanders were transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in serious condition. FHP says neither passenger was wearing a seat belt.

A baby boy who was also in the car at the time of the crash was critically injured.

Troopers say an investigation is ongoing and they are working to identify the driver of the Charger.

The driver of the Corolla was not injured in the collision.
