TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The legislative session brings an uptick in business for downtown Tallahassee restaurants.

Andrew's Downtown serves customers near the Capitol building. Now, the restaurant is lending a helping hand to the community.

Andrew's is inviting customers to round up their bill to raise money for Farm Share Florida. The organization works with farms to reduce food waste by taking crops that may not look appealing enough for grocery stores and donating them to hungry residents. Farm Share also collects nonperishable food to donate to the hungry. They also helped organize statewide supply distribution after recent hurricanes.

Paul Roth is a partner at Andrew's Downtown.

"It's a great opportunity to focus on the charity, and bring it to light, and hopefully add some value," said Roth. "I think it's just part of the human condition. As soon as you have any level of success or any opportunity, it's always a great time to give back."

This is the first year Andrew's is fundraising for Farm Share. Roth said the overall feedback from everyone has been so positive, even staff are donating their tips to the organization.

Andrew's Downtown will offer the 'round-up' fundraiser through the rest of the legislative session.
