ATLANTA, Ga. (AP) -- People will have a chance to register to vote at Atlanta's downtown transit hub.

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, or MARTA, plans to host a voter registration effort from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday on the concourse level of its Five Points Station. The event is timed to coincide with National Voter Registration Day.

MARTA says volunteers from local non-profit organizations will be on hand with voter registration forms. People wishing to register are reminded to bring a state identification card or driver's license or be prepared to provide the last four digits of their Social Security number.

The voter registration drive is a non-partisan effort.
