TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) — A family continues searching for answers after Wednesday night's shooting on Holton Street.

The shooting happened at Leon Arms apartments, the same complex of the

of Tony McDade.

The Tallahassee Police Department says a 27-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy were shot and rushed to the hospital after the shooting.

Family members tell WCTV the name of the boy is Remarcus Addison Jr., or RJ.

RJ was taking out the trash with his 10-year-old sister when the shooting happened.

“Everybody is in total shock because he was so young. Why would the dude just pull up and just go shooting?” Tavashia Addison said.

The family says they are devastated. They tell WCTV it will take RJ four to six months to recover from his injuries.

“He’s doing okay. The bullet shot him in his face like on his bone,” she said.

Neighbors tell WCTV they’re in shock that another shooting took place at the apartments within just a few weeks.

“It’s the people that’s not from over here that is making it dangerous and coming over here and causing problems. It’s not even our own people. That’s what is making me angry,” said Anecia Ash.

Ash says there are a lot of children in the area who can be outside at anytime.

“People keep talking about the kids should have been in the house, we don’t know if they are going to take out the trash. It’s no school right now. With COVID like, it’s kids have nothing to do but be outside at anytime of night,” said Ash.

Both the 27-year-old man, and 12-year-old RJ are expected to recover from their injuries.

At this time, TPD has not named a suspect or made any arrests in connection to Wednesday’s shooting
