NAVARRE, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say two people were injured when they fatally struck a bear with their motorcycle in the Florida Panhandle.

The Pensacola News Journal reports that the crash occurred Sunday morning near Navarre.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 54-year-old man was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle on State Road 87 when the bear entered the roadway. The bike hit the bear, ejecting the man and his passenger, a 46-year-old woman.

The man and woman were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. No charges were filed.
