December 13, 2016
VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) -- A Brooks County State Court Judge has been arrested for driving under the influence, the Georgia State Patrol confirms.
Judge William Folsom, 68, was arrested on Monday just after 6:30 p.m. after being involved in a crash.
GSP says the two-vehicle crash happened on Shiloh Road near Amber Drive in Valdosta.
The crash reports states that Folsom-- one of the drivers-- smelled of alcohol, had glassy, bloodshot eyes, and appeared unsteady on his feet.
When troopers asked if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages, Folsom said he'd had a glass and a half of wine earlier. Officials say he was cooperative during the investigation.
GSP says a breathalyzer test revealed Folsom had a blood alcohol content of .09, which is .01 above the legal limit.
Folsom was arrested for DUI and taken to the Lowndes County Jail.
