An employee at Tallahassee Dodge Chrysler Jeep is now under arrest and accused of stealing more than $124,000 from the dealership.

Court records show Shannon Weston worked in the finance office there.

According to arrest reports, a fellow employee noticed a discrepancy in the dealership's financial records in August and an audit ultimately revealed that Weston had written 137 checks to herself.

Leon County deputies say Weston forged the owner's signature and cashed as many as eight checks a month between April 2014 and August 2016.

Deputies claim to have surveillance video of Weston cashing many of the checks at the Crawfordville Wal Mart.

Court records say the dealership's controller confronted Weston and fired her.
