CAIRO, Ga. (WCTV) -- The city of Cairo is putting together a panel of experts to help storm victims navigate recovery. 10 days after the storm, many residents still have a lot of unanswered questions.
This week, insurance adjusters have been on the ground to take pictures across damaged areas in town.
Insurance has been a big topic of discussion in town. Mayor Booker Gainor says it's for this reason the city is organizing a town hall meeting next week.
"Not only supplying them with canned goods and those necessities, but helping them understand their insurance policies and their credit. How to navigate that process. The process that you don't really get a lot of people come and help you do," Mayor Gainor said.
Gainor continued, saying a panel of experts is being put together, including realtors and insurance claims adjusters to make storm victims feel comfortable to ask questions, help them understand their options and what resources are available.
The town hall will take place on March 19 starting at 6 p.m. at Mount Calvary Mission Baptist Church.
