TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- With Florida State's first basketball exhibition just two days out, the Seminoles got some bad news as redshirt-senior forward Phil Cofer is out indefinitely after sustaining an injury to his right foot in practice on Tuesday.

During his sophomore campaign, Cofer had a non-cancerous bone tumor removed from the same foot.

This past spring, the team announced Cofer had been awarded a fifth-year of eligibility.

The Georgia native averaged 12.8 points and 5.1 rebounds a game last year during FSU's Elite Eight run, both of which were career bests.

FSU opens their two-game exhibition slate on Friday against West Florida.
