TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A man is behind bars in Leon County, accused of exposing his genitals to a nine-year-old boy and then pulling a knife on witnesses who confronted him about the incident.

44-year-old Solmar Booty was taken into custody on Wednesday.

The Leon County Sheriff's Office says on July 20, the boy and his mother went to the home of Booty and his roommate to eat dinner. The mother told investigators while everyone was on the back porch, she saw Booty talking to her son, but the crotch of his pants was pushed to the side and the suspect's testicles were exposed near the boy's face.

The mother said she began to argue with Booty, who grabbed a knife and began to walk towards her.

According to LSCO, Booty's roommate moved between the woman and the suspect, and then punched Booty in the face. The roommate confirmed to authorities that he saw Booty holding his penis and his testicles in his hand and was less than a foot away from the child's face.

The sheriff's office says Booty did not return to the place of his employment after he was contacted by investigators on July 31. Booty was featured on WCTV's 'Wanted Wednesday' segment in late August.

Booty has been charged with lewd or lascivious exhibition and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He's being held on $35,000 bail.
