Authorities identify man found in Lake Park lake

LAKE PARK, Ga. (WCTV) -- Authorities have identified the person who was found unresponsive in a Lake Park lake on Monday.

Lowndes County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim as 42-year-old Andrew Joseph Rickert of Sanford, Florida.

Monday morning, LCSO deputies responded to Teresa Drive for a report of an unresponsive male in the lake. He was pulled to shore but was unable to be revived.

Authorities have not released a cause of death.

LCSO says the investigation is ongoing and an autopsy will be performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Medical Examiner's Office on Wednesday.

LAKE PARK, Ga. (WCTV) -- Deputies say one person is dead after being found unresponsive in a lake in Lake Park Monday morning.

The Lowndes County Sheriff's Office says that deputies responded to Teresa Drive around 7 a.m. Monday after a male was found unresponsive in Long Pond.

LCSO says that the male was was pulled to the shore but was later pronounced dead.

Detectives are investigating the scene and processing evidence. Officials say that no cause of death has been determined at this time but alcohol may be a factor.

“We are continuing with this investigation and the autopsy will shed some light on the exact cause of death." Sheriff Chris Prine said. "If anyone has information about this incident I would encourage them to contact our detective office.”

The male's identity has not been released at this time pending next-of-kin notification.
