TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Leon County Commissioner Bryan Desloge has been appointed to serve on the FEMA National Advisory Council.
The council works with FEMA to help coordinate all aspects of emergency management, including communication with state, local and private sector entities. Desloge will represent the viewpoint of elected local officials.
The appointment is for a three year term, which will last through May 2021. Desloge is one of ten new members appointed at the end of the 2018 term.
Other newly appointed members include Juan Perez, Miami-Dade County Police Department Director as the emergency response provider representative, and Charley English, American Red Cross National Emergency Management Liaison from Fayetteville, Georgia as an administrator's selection.
Desloge will serve on the insurance and mitigation subcommittee.
