TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- 50 days, 50 states, 50 5Ks. That's what one man is doing to raise awareness for mental health issues in the United States.
Dr. Adel KorKor stopped in Tallahassee on Monday, his 31st stop, aiming to spread the word and stop the stigma behind mental illness.
He says having suffered from anxiety and panic disorder himself, he considers running to be an outlet.
"Running has helped me so I decided, you know what, why can't I come up with something that would couple my own personal experience with the fact that mental health is so common, so disabling all over the country. I said you know what, I can run 5K," Dr. Korkor said.
Dr. Korkor says the best part of the experience has been meeting others with the same struggles and growing together.
