The Dozier Task force will be meeting twice in August to finalize its recommendations for a memorial at the now closed reform school.

The task force will outline plans for building and maintaining a memorial to the boys who lived and died at the Dozier School for Boys.

It will also make recommendations on what to do with remains that were recovered from unmarked graves on the property, but have not been identified.

According to the state's Division of Historical Resources, the August 3rd meeting will be an organizational meeting.

The public will have a chance to comment at the August 19th meeting. That's also when the task force is expected to vote on its final recommendations to the legislature.
