TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A Tallahassee man has died after suffering an apparent medical episode while driving, FHP reports.

According to FHP, at 8 a.m. Tuesday, a driver in a Ford F250 pickup truck was stopped in traffic in the southbound lane of Centerville Road, just north of the intersection of Bradfordville Road in Tallahassee.

The crash report states, for unknown reasons, the truck started to roll forward and traveled off of the roadway to the right, into a ditch. The vehicle did not hit any other vehicles or objects and was not damaged when it went into the ditch.

Troopers say it appears the driver, 46-year-old David Trotman, suffered an unknown medical event that caused him to lose control of the vehicle. He was given medical attention on scene.

Trotman was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital but later died.

FHP was assisted on scene by Leon County Deputies and EMS.
