TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Florida A&M University formally introduced interim Athletic Director Dr. John Eason on Wednesday.

Eason takes over for former AD Milton Overton, who announced late last month that he was leaving to take the same position at Kennesaw State in Atlanta, Georgia.

Eason, who is the eighth AD - interim or full time - since 2010, said he wasn't worried about the turnover at the position, saying in his press conference, "The point is while I'm here, you will know I've been here. Why? Because I'm going to make a difference while I'm here."

A FAMU graduate, Eason played for the Rattlers from 1964-1967 and played for one year in the NFL with the Oakland Raiders. Eason then went into coaching, where he logged over 20 years before retiring.

He promised to continue Overton's plan to raise funds for a new athletic facility, despite being unsure of how much time he'll have.
