LIBERTY COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – An 89-year-old woman suffered critical injuries when the car she was riding in ran a stop sign and struck another vehicle.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of County Road 12 and County Road 379 in Liberty County.
The crash report states that a Chevrolet Impala was traveling west on CR 379 when the driver failed to brake at a stop sign at the intersection of CR 12. The Impala drove into the intersection and collided with a Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling south.
The passenger in the Impala, 89-year-old Helen S. Revell, was taken to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in critical condition. Troopers say she was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the Impala was treated for minor injuries. He has not been cited for the crash at this time.
The driver of the Silverado was not injured but his passenger suffered minor injuries.
