HOMERVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) -- First responders are currently on the scene after an explosion and fire at a coffee shop in Clinch County.
The incident happened at 12:15 p.m. Friday at the Coffee Corner at 112 East Dame Avenue in downtown Homerville.
Three people who were inside the coffee shop at the time managed to make it out and were airlifted from the scene with serious injuries, according to Glenn Allen, spokesman for the Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner.
Allen says the cause of the explosion remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office but investigators are looking at natural gas as a possible cause. Officials added that there was some construction in the area.
We reached out to Atlanta Gas Light for comment on the incident. They said in a statement, "Atlanta Gas Light is committed to ensuring the safety of every family we serve.
