TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- As FAMU's Homecoming Week continues, alumni are returning to share their success stories.
Of the alumni that have returned to campus, many of them graduated from the School of Journalism.
Former Rattlers now working for MSNBC, CNN and even CBS spoke to students Thursday to help them prepare for the real world, and offered advice on how to be successful in the field after FAMU.
"Just to feel confident in themselves," said Kim Godwin, a senior broadcast producer for CBS Evening News. "To study hard when they're here, to do their best and to be confident about what they want to do and reach back."
Godwin is a graduate of FAMU and is now on the Board of Visitors. She also serves as the executive director of diversity for CBS News.
