Fans: Mann most likely to get drafted in 2019 NBA Draft
June 28, 2018
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Although Braian Angola signed a Summer League contract with the Orlando Magic, the 2018 NBA Draft came and went without a Seminole being called.
change next year, when at least two names should be heard in Phil Cofer and Terance Mann.
And, if FSU fans are to be believed, if only one of those is to be called next June, it'll be Terance Mann.
Which wouldn't be a bad get for a team. Mann is aiming to improve upon a season in which he averaged 12.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.6 assist, the latter of the two stats he led the Seminoles in.
Regardless of who is drafted between Cofer and Mann, if recent history is to suggest anything, it's that it isn't on their side.
A senior wasn't taken in this year's edition of the draft until the 21st overall pick, when Grayson Allen went to Utah, and in Mann's case, only five guards were taken inside the first 15 picks (only two of
were shooting guards).
But, that isn't to say there isn't hope for either.
The draft did get very guard heavy in the second round (good for Mann) and experience in the college game showed to be valuable late in the second round as well (good for both, especially the sixth-year senior Cofer).
I don't think anyone is expecting FSU to house a lottery pick in 2019 (although, a lot can change), but it shouldn't be an outlandish claim to say the Seminoles will be represented next year, much like they have in years past.
