GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the person who died in a fatal crash on I-10 in Gadsden County on Monday afternoon.
FHP has identified the victim as 48-year-old Lindaura Alvarez of Hallandale, Florida.
According to the FHP report, at 2:58 p.m. Monday, Alvarez was driving westbound on I-10 in the inside lane behind her daughter's vehicle. Alvarez's daughter's vehicle hydroplaned off of the roadway onto the north shoulder and came to a stop in the emergency lane.
Troopers say Alvarez made an attempt to check on the well-being of her daughter and stopped or slowed down partially in the inside lane. A semi-truck that was traveling behind Alvarez's car overtook the vehicle and was unable to avoid it.
The semi-truck collided with Alvarez's Toyota Corolla and the semi's trailer overturned onto her vehicle.
