FHP: Quincy man dies in single-car crash on Pat Thomas Parkway

QUINCY, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Florida Highway Patrol says one person has died in a single-car crash on Pat Thomas Parkway Monday afternoon.

FHP says around 3:35 p.m. on Monday, a vehicle being driven by 67-year-old Donnie Sloat was traveling south in the southbound lane when, for an unknown reason, the car began to cross into the northbound lane.

Troopers say Sloat continued to to travel a southeasterly direction, leaving the roadway onto the east grassy shoulder and entering the wood line.

Officials say the front of the vehicle collided with a tree before coming to a final rest.

Officials say Sloat was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers say there is no road block.

It is unknown how many people have died, if any others are injured or what caused the crash.
