TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Florida State University is collecting donations of personal hygiene products to help victims of Hurricane Irma in South Florida.

Organizers say victims are in desperate need of products such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and deodorant.

A collection drive is being held on Thursday, September 14, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center.

Anyone wishing to donate can drive through the circle at the plaza level of the Tucker Center on Pensacola Street and hand off donations to waiting FSU staff members. FSU students and volunteers will be on hand to pack the items into bags.

FSU is partnering with Leon County, which is working with non-profit agencies distribute the bags to those in need.
