TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Florida State showed off their new residence halls on Wednesday.

A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Magnolia and Azalea halls took place in the afternoon.

The new buildings are equipped with modern study halls, recreation centers and full-sized kitchens, among other upgrades.

"We're going after the top students in America, certainly the top students in Florida," said FSU President John Thrasher. "These kinds of amenities, I think, help attract those students because they know we care about them.

"Once they
get here in these types of facilities they become a family, and that's one of the values of Florida State University," Thrasher continued.
