TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Florida Highway Patrol have identified the victims of a fatal crash that happened Sunday morning on North Monroe Street.

Troopers say a Toyota driven by 71-year-old Patricia Yackanech-Hughes of Tallahassee was heading east on a nearby business entrance/exit access-way and was approaching U.S. Highway 27 (North Monroe).

FHP says a Harley Davidson was heading south on US-27 when Hughes allegedly traveled into the Harley's lane trying to get onto US-27. That's when officials say the Harley collided with the drivers side of the Toyota, throwing the driver off of his bike.

The driver of the Harley has been identified as 49-year-old Michael Smith of Tallahassee. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Yackanech-Hughes was not injured in the accident. Officials are continuing to investigate if other factors contributed to the crash.
