Fire Marshal investigating suspicious fire at vacant Wellborn motel

SUWANNEE CO., Fla. (WCTV) -- Suwannee County Fire crews and the State Fire Marshal are investigating a suspicious fire at a vacant motel in Wellborn.

Around 7 p.m. Sunday, SCFR responded to the scene of a structure fire at the old Scottish Inn, located at I-75 and County Road 136. When crews arrived the entire structure was on fire.

The State Fire Marshal stated the fire is suspicious in nature and is under investigation. No one was inside the motel when the fire broke out. Damage is estimated at $150,000.

Crews shut down part of County Road 136 while they battled the blaze. The road has since reopened.
