Firefighters battle blazes at multiple homes in Leon County Sunday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Tallahassee Fire department had a busy Sunday.

The department responded to three separate house fires between Woodville, west Tallahassee and north Tallahassee within 15 hours.

According to TFD, crews responded to 9600 block of Butterfly trail in Woodville around 12 a.m. and found fire and smoke coming from the roof and rear of the home as the result of an electrical fire.

Damage to the home is estimated at $150,000

Around 4 a.m., firefighters responded to a roof fire in the 2700 block of Faringdon Drive. The structure began to collapse, forcing firefighters to fight the fire outside, TFD says.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time, and damage is estimated at $85,000 officials say.

Around 3 p.m. Firefighters extinguished a blaze in the 2800 block of Boatner Street, both the cause and damage estimates of the fire are still being determined at this time.

TFD says there were no injuries in any of the fires.

All of the displaced residents are currently being assisted by the Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.
