TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Tallahassee community continues to rally around the yoga studio where seven people were shot, two fatally, on November 2.
On Wednesday, a fundraiser was held at The Refinery Barre Fitness Studio off of Thomasville Road. The shop is collecting cash and other contributions, like candles or bath salts, for the staff at Hot Yoga Tallahassee.
“We felt horrible about what happened and we realized that it's impacted the whole community,” said owner Sheryl Webster. “We realize that yoga and barre are so much alike and we have so many clients in common. We wanted to do something. We wanted to make a difference. It's a little something, but something's better than nothing."
The fundraiser will run through Tuesday. Webster said she recognized that instructors at the yoga studio have been out of work since the shooting and need help to start healing as well.
