TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Florida High School graduate Stephen Davis has committed to FAMU and will enroll this fall to compete with the Rattlers golf team.

Davis, who plans on majoring in mechanical engineering, says he's looking forward to the challenges of the next level.

"Ever since I started playing golf, that's all I ever wanted to do," Davis said. "And being able to do it in a town where I know everyone, is special to me. I just want to play the best I can and do well."

Davis enters FAMU with an impressive high school resume. He won a district title in 2014 and won the Prep City Championship in 2015 before qualifying for both the FHSAA State Championships and Florida Junior Am this past year.

He also already feels at home with the Rattlers club, as Davis sees "the team practicing at Southwood a lot where I play. I like the guys, and I feel it's a good fit for me."
