TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) The Florida State women's basketball team has garnered a #5 seed and will open the NCAA Women's Tournament against Bucknell on Friday in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Tip off between FSU and Bucknell is set for 4 p.m. on Friday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
FSU is part of the Greensboro Region, which features #1 Baylor, #4 South Carolina and conference foes UNC (#9) and NC State (#3).
The Seminoles went 23-8 this season and dropped five of their last six regular season games, with wins coming against Pittsburgh on February 17 and at Georgia Tech on March 3 to close the regular season.
FSU won their first ACC Tournamnet game against Duke before falling to NC State.
Florida State drew an early exit from last year's tournament, falling to Buffalo, 86-65.
This year marks the first time FSU hasn't hosted the first round since the 2015/16 season, when they went to College Station.
ESPN moved up their presentation of the bracket unveil after the bracket was inadvertently run earlier in the day. While the entire bracket wasn't released, parts - including FSU's location, opponent and seed - were.
