Florida man tosses bike, then shoots at police officer

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Investigators are looking for a man who opened fire on an officer in Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office tells media outlets the officer wasn't injured and returned five shots at the man as he ran from the scene late Thursday night.
Investigators say they aren't sure whether the suspect was hit. They retrieved a gun at the scene.
Officers were responding to a 911 call about a man firing shots into a home late Wednesday night. Arriving officers found a man on a bicycle. They ordered him to get off the bike. He did, but threw the bike at the officer and took off running.
According to police, the man then reached into a backpack, pulled out a gun and fired.
No further details were immediately available.
