Former Seminole Weaver involved in blockbuster MLB trade

PHOENIX, Ariz. (WCTV) -- Former Florida State pitcher Luke Weaver was the centerpiece of the return for the Arizona Diamondbacks in Wednesday's blockbuster trade that sent power hitting first baseman Paul Goldschmidt to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Weaver went 7-11 with a 4.95 ERA last year with St. Louis, his third with the major league club and joins a pitching staff that combined to post a 3.72 ERA in 2018.
The DeLand native spent three years with FSU, from 2012-14 and dominated, going 16-6 with a 3.04 ERA, striking out 244 compared to walking just 63.
