Franklin County officials issue mandatory evacuation

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) -- Franklin County officials have issued a mandatory evacuation for the entire county beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

Officials say the areas along the coastline are the most important to evacuate; St. George Island, Dog Island, Alligator Point and Bald Point.

Officials say if you do not have transportation, buses will transport people out of the county from the following locations:

  • Apalachicola - ABC School, 10 a.m.
  • Eastpoint - Fire Station, 11 a.m.
  • Carrabelle - Library 11:30 a.m.
  • Lanark Village - Chillas Hall, 12 p.m.

    Officials say a list of shelters can be found on their website.
