BROOKS COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) -- The Georgia State Patrol has identified the victim of a fatal rollover crash in Brooks County yesterday evening.
The crash happened at 6:05 p.m. Sunday along Cooper Road, less than a mile east of Robinson Road in Brooks County.
Troopers say 60-year-old Deborah Godfrey Simpson, of Barney, Georgia, was driving east on Cooper Road in a 2006 Toyota Corolla when she failed to negotiate a curve to the right in the roadway. Simpson's vehicle left the roadway and struck a culvert, causing her vehicle to overturn several times before coming to rest in a field.
GSP says Simpson was not wearing a seat belt. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Brooks County Coroner.
Troopers do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a contributing factor in this collision.
