VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) -- Valdosta Police have arrested a minor on Wednesday in conjunction with a series of vehicle burglaries.

According to authorities, VPD has seen an increase in vehicle break-ins, and were dispatched to three break-ins on the morning of June 5.

The reported break-ins occurred in the 4000 block of Chadwyck Drive and twice on the 4200 block of Wilshire Drive.

“I am very proud of the detectives and citizens who worked together in these cases," said Chief Brian Childress in a statement. "The police department has a group of detectives who are working together to make additional arrests in these recent vehicle break-ins.

"In the meantime," Chief Childress continued, "I am asking citizens to keep their vehicle doors locked, not to leave valuables in their vehicle, and to dial 911 when they see anything suspicious in their neighborhoods.”

WCTV is choosing not to identify the suspect due to his age.

VPD has charged the suspect with three counts of felony theft by entering automobile.
