TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A former Tallahassee elementary school guidance counselor arrested in August for lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor is now facing an additional charge.

According to TPD, 28-year-old Kathgret Rentz has been arrested on an additional charge of lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor after investigators uncovered new evidence in the case.

Prior to her arrest, Rentz had been a guidance counselor at Chaires Elementary School in Tallahassee.

TPD says investigators developed new leads in the case, interviewed additional witnesses and obtained search warrants for Rentz's residence.

According to the probable cause affidavit, investigators found evidence of a relationship between Rentz and the minor on the defendant's cell phone, including hundreds of text messages over a span of two months, and several photos of the two kissing.

On November 4, an arrest warrant was signed and Rentz was located in Tallahassee and taken into custody.

Bond was set at $25,000, court documents show.

Rentz bonded out on November 5 and was ordered not to have any contact with the victim or other minors.

TPD's Special Victims Unit is continuing to investigate the case. Investigators are asking anyone with information about this incident to call TPD at (850) 891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
