TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Leon County Schools Superintendent Rocky Hanna was back inside the classroom Thursday morning, stepping in as a substitute teacher for a fourth grade class at Ruediger Elementary.
He did so as part of his weekly workdays, where he covers various district jobs.
Hanna said he was nervous to teach, but excited to interact with kids.
"It gives me a chance to walk in the shoes of some of our employees," he said. "Whether that's a resource officer or a substitute teacher or a food service worker. It shows that I'm in there with our people and I can learn some of their day-to-day with our children."
Hanna also subbed at Raa Middle School, where he taught a lesson on the Industrial Revolution.
