LCSO announces 2017 Strategic Plan

Tallahassee, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Leon County Sheriff's Office working to make the community safer through numerous initiatives.

Wednesday morning, Sheriff Walt McNeil shared with the public the 2017 Strategic Plan, entitled "ALLin".

A few of the initiatives include, preventing minor offenders from going back to jail, starting mentoring programs at local elementary schools, and increasing neighborhood watch in high crime areas.

The overall goal of the plan is to create a safer environment for residents.

“We’re trying to best address the issues about the quality of life in Leon County. To have our deputies and our partners focused on reducing crime. Working to make Leon County a better place for all of us to live work and play,” said Sheriff Walt McNeil.
