TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Leon County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help identifying a man suspected in the attempted theft of an air conditioning unit.

Investigators say the man was recently seen dismantling a disconnected A/C unit outside of the Victory Food Mart on Blountstown Highway. When he was confronted, he took the parts back out of his vehicle and left the area.

LCSO says there was another case in the same area that day that may be related, involving another industrial A/C unit.

The suspect is believed to be driving a red or maroon 2001 or newer Dodge Caravan.

Anyone who recognizes the man or has any information on the case is asked to call Detective Edwards at (850) 606-3300, or to remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a reward, call Big Bend Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS (8477).
