LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Lake City Police Department is looking for a man who's accused of threatening to shoot an officer in a post on Facebook.

LCPD says it received information on Wednesday that 36-year-old Matthew Griffis said in a Facebook post, "I feel like pulling out this pistol on a cop just to get the reaction I know's coming.”

The police department claims additional statements made by Griffis indicate his intention to shoot one of its officers.

Griffis is described as a white male with brown hair and blue eyes. He's 5'9" tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. LCPD says Griffis is considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Anyone with knowledge of Griffis’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Lake City Police Department at 386-752-4344 or to dial 9-1-1.
