Lane closures begin on Gornto Road

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) -- Road construction could have Valdosta drivers hitting the brakes.

Starting Wednesday, Gornto Road will be down to one lane as crews begin resurfacing work. The project runs between Jerry Jones Drive and North Oaks Street.

Parts of Gornto Road will be closed off. The resurfacing of the road is expected to start Tuesday.

Traffic Wednesday was already beginning to back up, causing some delays for drivers. City crews are asking drivers to use alternate routes until the project is completed.
